Michel Torino has made great investments in the winery and has also planted 500 ha of vineyards in the last 3 - 4 years. The Bodega El Esteco is situated in the foothills of the Andes in the Cafayate region around Salta in North-West Argentina, in one of the most scenic regions of this country. The vineyards are planted at 1700 metres making them some of the highest commercial sites in the world. Cool climate plays a key part, with great variations between night and day time temperatures, slowing down the ripening cycle and ensuring the development of good varietal character. The hallmark of Salta reds are their great intensity of colour while the white wines, Torrontes in particular, are fresh and appealing. From the 2006 vintage, their vineyards have been certified as totally organic. A luxury wine spa has recently been opened at Michel Torino in partnership with Sheraton Hotels, using beauty and treatment products derived from grapes and wine residues from the winery. Michel Torino is well recognised on the international market and is renowned for its excellent wine quality, elegant label design and premium presentation.
