This estate was already well known in 1793 under the name of Casino Castorino. In 2000 it was purchased by Formula One driver Jarno Trulli with three other partners. Currently 32 hectares are planted with an average age of the vines being 25 years old. The grapes are farmed organically, thanks to their location at 300 metres where a cooling wind blowing through the vineyards helps to maintain the vines natural health. A new winery has just been built equipped with modern technology, and particular mention should be made of the grape drying room which is unique in that the grapes are cool dried giving a fresher style to the resulting Amarone type wine. The whites are pressed in modern basket presses rather than with a pneumatic press as the winemaker, Luca, feels that this gives more character and stability to the wines. Jarno Trulli particularly appreciates Amarone and is delighted with the wine which bears his name and which is made in this style. To quote Jarno Trulli 'I've always sought perfection in everything I do; in a racing car where split seconds make the difference; and in the vineyard, where it has taken years of hard work to give our wine its special character and originality'.
