Barros is a producer that never stops searching the best quality of its wines, according to the prestige and the traditions of the house. It was founded in 1913 and since then, Barros mainly produces Port. The family owns several vineyards in the Douro region. It is due to the widely recognized quality of its old Tawnies that Barros is mostly known for. The long tradition of aging these wines, the quality and diversity of its old wine reserves and the great quantity of pipes, large casks and vats, which all together support the best quality products. Barros Port is appreciated all over the World. Most of their success comes from the Old Tawnies from a single year - the Colheita - high quality wines matured in cask for a minimum period of eight years. These wines are produced from the best carefully selected harvests and are always presented with the indication of the harvest and bottling years.
